MEST Africa launches 6th edition of MEST Africa Challenge 2024: $50,000 equity funding for AgriTech startups

, Ghana – Applications are now open for the 2024 MEST Challenge (MAC), an annual competition supporting entrepreneurs across . The challenge, organized by the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST Africa) in partnership with the Norwegian Embassy, offers $50,000 in equity funding for the winning startup.

This year’s theme, “Find Your Soil,” encourages AgriTech startups to cultivate their innovations with the right resources. The competition aims to empower early-stage AgriTech businesses tackling agricultural challenges in West Africa by providing essential funding, mentorship, and access to MEST’s global network. Startups from countries like Ghana, , Senegal, and more are eligible to apply.

The challenge is open to early-stage tech startups with a minimum of $5,000 in monthly recurring revenue, up to $1 million in cumulative funding, and less than three years of operation. Applications are now open and can be submitted online at MEST Africa Challenge.

MEST Africa, a nonprofit founded by the Meltwater Foundation, has invested over $30 million into training more than 2,000 entrepreneurs and supporting 90 startups. Through MAC 2024, AgriTech startups have the opportunity to scale their businesses and drive economic growth across the continent.
