MTN Ghana assures customers of secured mobile money service amid fraud concerns

Mrs. Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, the Corporate Communication Senior Manager of Limited, has assured customers that their (MoMo) service is secure and will continue to serve with excellence.

The assurance was given at a media forum in , where issues affecting consumer safety and efficient service delivery were discussed.

Addressing concerns regarding MoMo fraudsters, Mrs. Fiagbenu acknowledged that many of these fraudsters use engineering tricks to deceive customers.

However, she pledged that the company would continue to educate and raise awareness among MoMo users to reduce their vulnerability to fraudulent activities.

Mrs. Fiagbenu advised MoMo customers to keep their pin codes confidential and avoid discussing their wallets with strangers. In case of suspicious activities, customers are encouraged to report fraudsters by providing their names and phone numbers to the company.

She emphasized that combating fraud should be a collaborative effort among all stakeholders.

Mr. Samuel Addo, the Chief Sales and Distribution Officer of the company, reiterated that customers must take responsibility for the safety of their wallets. He urged them not to disclose their MoMo pin codes or allow others to perform transactions on their behalf.

To prevent fraud, customers should refuse to engage with anyone discussing their wallet or entice them to respond to promotions they have not patronized.
