On Tuesday, President Nana Addo Dankwa commissioned the expanded tomato tin factory of Gallina Blanca (GB) Foods, the makers of Gino tomato paste brand, at industrial enclave.

The expansion worth $5 million is expected to increase the company's production capacity and create more job opportunities for Ghanaians.

The President expressed his excitement over the company's decision to source domestically raw materials and establish industrial farmlands for tomato concentrate processing.

In his remarks, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the government's commitment to creating a stable economic framework and favourable outlook for businesses in Ghana.

He called on private sector players to expand their investments in the country as the surest way to grow the economy and create much-needed jobs for the youth of the nation.

“The government I lead is a natural cheerleader for the private sector, and it is my sincere wish that GB Foods and, indeed, the Ghanaian private sector will continue to invest further in Ghana,” the President said.

He also assured the shareholders, management, and staff of GB Foods and the people of Ghana that the government would provide stability to the economy to serve as the foundation for sustainable and rapid growth.

“The goal of my government remains constant; we aim to unlock the full potential of the private sector and the Ghanaian sense of enterprise to create jobs and prosperity for all Ghanaians and to position Ghana as the preferred investment destination,” he added.

The President urged other companies to emulate GB Foods' example by investing in the country's economy. He believes cascading investments in the economy is the most effective way to expand and strengthen it to create jobs and prosperity for all Ghanaians.
